Salgo Tikka began in March 2018 as a small operation in Kerala — one employee, one vehicle, and sofas bought in from other manufacturers. It worked, but it had a ceiling: when a customer asked for a different size, a different fabric, a different frame, the answer was usually no.
So in 2020 we built our own. We moved production in-house to an 850 sq ft unit and started making sofas to order — customer's measurements, customer's wood, customer's upholstery. Saying yes became the business. Demand followed. By 2023 we had outgrown the unit five times over and moved into a 5,000 sq ft workshop with a team of 36. What began as local deliveries now reaches homes across Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Karnataka.

Along the way, more than 1 lakh people started following the work on Instagram — not the finished photos so much as the frames, the foam, the stitching. That's the part we care about too. Every sofa is still designed around one room, one family, one set of measurements, and still built by hand in our own workshop.
